Lesson 1.2: Setting Up Salary


  1. Click New Accounts File on the File menu. This will create a new account with all amounts set to zero.
  2. Ensure that the Salary button is in the down position, so that the Salary text box is editable, and the Salary figure is included in all calculations.
  3. Type in a figure to represent total annual earnings. If you get paid weekly or monthly calculate an average figure for one year. Press the ENTER key to confirm.
  4. Notice the Indexed checkbox, to the right of the Salary clickspin control. When this is checked it indicates that in future years, you expect that your 'Salary' will increase to keep pace with inflation ( at whatever rate you have set on the Inflation/Tax tab).
