Budget rescaling controls
On the Rescale Budget tab are a set of controls that allow you to temporarily alter your budget total, by increasing or decreasing all non-essential expense amounts, in proportion to their relative size in the Original Budget. Those categories which you have marked (on the Edit Original Budget tab) as Essential Expenses remain unchanged.
These controls allow you to adjust the value of
Expenditure within an automatically set
range. The range itself can also be manually reset using either of the two
buttons at the top of the control.
Using all these controls you can scale,
up or down, discretionary expenses - such as Entertainment, Vacations,
etc - to examine the effect on the overall Total.
The value of Rescaled
Budget can also be directly altered by editing its text box,
or by using its associated spin control (see Editing
currency amounts).
And when the Synchronize function
is also engaged, the Rescaled Budget Total synchronizes
with the Expenditure figure (on the Accounts
side of the program), showing graphically the interaction between income and
budget total, over time - in the dual
chart display.
Using the click button controls at the top of the Rescale
Budget tab,
the value of the Rescaled Budget total
can be instantly set to one of three preset
values:
